Meet the Husband and Wife Team
We are Amber and Alex! We have been shooting weddings since 2010. Capturing the most intimate of moments that naturally unfold on the happiest day of your life. Being a husband and wife team allows for us to really understand the moments that a couple is looking for on their special day. We also have the ability to show you the poses, interact with you as if we have been friends our entire lives, and really appeal to both the male and female perspectives of the wedding day.
Amber Kelley: I am born and raised in Texas! When I first started shooting weddings, I knew, this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. The moment I started combining my passion for travel and photography, by shooting destination weddings all over the world I knew my dream had come true. I accomplished above and beyond my original goal! In 2014 I made the move to Tulum, Mexico and started my journey as an expat, destination wedding photographer. My whole life I was searching for exactly what I found here. Street food, amazing vibes, beautiful beaches and jungles you can lose yourself in and find yourself at the same time. My time in Mexico really allowed me to discover who I was and blossom into the photographer I am today.
As a traveller, I was on a road trip in Mexico when I met the love of my life and my partner photographer, Alex. Together we shoot, travel, go to the gym, eat amazing food, enjoy the adventures life throws at us. Together, we will travel the world with our amazing clients and create art, connecting us in ways you can only imagine. Together we have created award winning photography, recognized around the world. This is my dream come true.
After many years of spontaneous travel and living abroad, I found that I was missing my deep Texas roots. I recently made the move back to Texas with my soul mate to feel a little more grounded. That’s not to say I don’t still enjoy travel and many destination weddings! In fact, I can’t quite let go of my house in Tulum. I just realized I was wanting a place to call home and not the constant life of living out of a suitcase and an AirBnB.
Alex is a Mexican born native. He is originally from Veracruz, Mexico and even though he is terrible with numbers (haha sorry hun!) he has his degree in accounting. Realizing this wasn’t at all what he wanted to do with his life, his interest grew towards photography. Something about his untamed spirit and shooting style, raw and natural, makes us the perfect pair for your wedding day. Alex moved to Playa del Carmen in 2014, oddly enough, our paths didn’t cross when we lived in the same state! It took 2 people, from the same area, on 2 different trips to find each other across the country. Alex is very involved in his family and loves like no one I have ever met. He is so passionate about life and so ready to take on the next adventure.
After living in Mexico ALL OF HIS LIFE, y’all, he made the move to Texas with me to be closer to my kids. While this is familiar territory for me, this is a whole new adventure for Alex! Seeing the city lights, the amazing food trucks, the wide open spaces allows him to experience what I had the opportunity to experience in Mexico. A new life, where you can find new inspiration and connect our creativity in the most artistic way possible. Together, we can create the perfect collection of photos for your wedding day.
Summer and Cody
Summer is not only an amazing photographer, she is also my sister. We like to keep our business a family ran and operated business. She has taken all of the same courses I have been through and interned with my company for over a year before she shot her first wedding. She started with me as a second shooter, but developed her skills and style so quickly that her and her husband, Cody, now shoot on their own. They have been shooting weddings together since 2014. Summer and Cody both have outgoing, friendly, adventurous styles making them, yet another perfect match for wedding photography. Summer moved to Mexico with me and shot weddings there for 1 year before moving back to the states to start a family. Together we experienced traveling the world, shooting amazing destination weddings, finding our crazy adventures enjoying cenotes, beaches, jungles, you name it! I will never forget her taking my jeep off road through the jungles and seeing that smile light up all of Mexico. She truly risked it all to come start something with me in another country!
We all found our way back home. I guess you could say Texas always pulled on our heart strings but I am so grateful to have shared this experience with her.
